Well what's happened since I last posted?
- My mum went back in for a bone marrow transplant September 5th.
- All was going well until the 14th she was rushed into intensive care unit.
- I moved to Newcastle on the 21st.
- I started university on the 23rd.
- My mum's health was finally improving by and by the October she was fully awake and trying to talk to us (food tube down her throat made it hard) for a couple of days.
- She suddenly fell back into a coma-like state and passed away on the 11th October.
(Whatever family that could make it said goodbye while the ventilators kept her barely alive, she was given a drug to slow her heart until the inevitable. Dad was by her side with her brothers for the last hour, I would have passed out so I had to stay downstairs with the others. My flat was 5 minutes up the road, dad rang me at 8am in hysterics. We were told what was going to happen around 10am. You don't know devastation until you've spent 13 hours in a hospital knowing what is coming next.)
- Her funeral was two Mondays after then, it was a beautiful service, the whole churchy thing was filled including the other large room where people had to watch via camera-to-screen.
- I couldn't continue with university as I was so I moved back home to Carlisle.
- I'm now looking for a job to last until I go back and try again next September.
So, as you can imagine, I'm distraught. I turned 21 a couple of weeks ago and just haven't really given a crap about anything. I'm obviously my normal self, but grievance has made me lie talking to her every night before I go to sleep. I dunno, its just something I believe I guess, I believe she's still here around us with everybody else. *shrugs*
She didn't deserve this. We were told it was septicemia that got her because of the line she had put in (so they didn't have to open veins every time she needed the treatment) which I always thought was not a good idea. Anyway, shes the most caring and inspirational person I've ever known, and theres no way I'll ever forget her - or anyone that has had the pleasure of knowing her.
- Dale proposed to me on our 3-year anniversary, which shows how much he really must love me, and of course I love him incredibly. No plans for a wedding yet, not until I finish university, way too expensive and grown-up for us at the moment.
I'm gonna run off now. Sitting in the living room watching the Simpsons and wasn't planning to be in a down mood again, need to lighten up somehow.
Laters.
Oh and apparently my rainbow is blue.
